Yusuf Moti - Non-Executive Chairman
Yusuf is the Executive Chairman of The Moti Group which is a company established as a holding company with a diversified portfolio consisting of, amongst others, Building materials, Construction, Telecommunications, Development and Real estate, Financial services, Mining, Healthcare and Retail. Yusuf sits on the advisory board of Absa as a non – executive chairman for the Gauteng region. He is the Chairman of Sourcerock and Acapulco, and brings with him a wide range of knowledge, experience, local and international networks and business credibility. He has established himself as an astute businessman in various countries around the world. Through the networks and strategic relationships he has built over time, he has access to an extensive and dynamic array of influential individuals spanning across various business platforms.

 

Cassim Shariff - Managing Director

MBA
Cassim is currently a director of J2C/Sourcerock and executive director of Acapulco. He was previously director of business development and strategy at Afrinaissance Mining Resources. He is also a director of Selang Resources & Leswika Resources the BEE partners to BRC Diamondcore. He was founder and CEO of iplab consulting. He was a senior consulting partner and head of Business Development in the Cyberia Group. Cassim also served on the board of HoHup Corporation SA as acting non-executive chairman. Cassim also served on the Department of Science & Technology Hydrogen & Fuel Cell R&D Review Panel. He was previously the Chief Operating Officer of Magnum Simplex International.

 

Nelius Pretorius - Executive Director

B Eng - Metallurgical (Physical)
Nelius was a Lead Process Engineer with Metallicon. Nelius has been working as Project Metallurgical Manager and Process Engineer for chrome, PGM and gold mining ventures. His core specialties are metallurgical production management, projects, pilot plant test work, plant audits and optimization and improvement studies. He has undertaken work for companies such as BHP Billiton Samancor, Sylvania Resources and Anglo Coal. Involved as a design and commissioning engineer on PGM from Chrome tailings operations such as Sylvania and International Ferro Metals (Phoenix project). Involved in Anglo Platinum –Two concentrate process re-designs (as part of ultrafine grind plant conversions). Designed Tailings Chromite recovery plant for Anglo Platinum. Designed and/or operational reviews for several plants such as Aquarius platinum and Golden Falls diamond recovery plant.

 

Yusuf Dindar - Executive Director
BComm, MBA

Yusuf is is a BCom graduate from the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS) having majored in Marketing and Business Economics and completed his MBA through Bond University, Australia with emphasis on entrepreneurship. Yusuf is an Executive Associate of the Institute for Independent Business which grants him access to a global network of resources. Yusuf is the CEO of Sourcerock bringing with him his rich network established over the last 15 years of successful industry experience. Some of his most successful projects include strategic advisor to many government stakeholders, from Minister to DG and operational heads as well as starting up and developing multi million rand business in the ICT, Consulting and retail industry to name a few. Yusuf’s focus is on the growth of projects in Africa with an emphasis on socio-economic development, as his innate passion.

 

Johan Meyer
BEng (Mech) Stellenbosch, GDE Witwatersrand

Johan is an experienced executive in the metal and mining industries. He commenced his career in the mining industry as a project engineer working for several mining companies. Johan then moved to the manufacturing industry in executive management roles over an 18 year period. In 2006, he joined Sylvania Resources Ltd and was appointed Managing Director for Sylvania Metals, the local subsidiary. He took overall responsibility for the re-treatment of chrome and platinum from the chrome tailings dumps and current operation. He designed, constructed and operated plants, which are now operating at full capacity and are one of the lowest cost plants in the platinum industry. In 2008, Johan was appointed Managing Director for Great Australian Resources Ltd, an Australian listed platinum explorations company. Johan serves on the board of Earth Metallurgical Solutions (Earth) as non-executive director. Earth is a technology startup company that has developed solutions for acid main drainage and industrial wastes.

 

Gerbrand Haasbroek
B Eng – Metallurgical (Hons) - University of Pretoria

Gerbrand owns his a consulting company, FeZa and his work experience includes spans across various sectors of industry.  Coal and Iron ore beneficiation (Engineer in training). Manufacturing of Vanadium chemicals inclusive of milling, granulation, calcining, leaching, precipitation and smelting technologies. (Production Superintendent and Metallurgical Manager).  Manufacture of Ferro Chrome inclusive of submerged arc and direct reduction technology. (Production Manager). Manufacture of raw materials for the refractory industry. This included the calcining of Dolomite, clay and Chromite. (Plant Manager). Manufacture of continuous casting mould fluxes, welding fluxes and foundry products for the steel and casting industry (Managing Director). Manufacture of Aluminium rolling ingots (Operations Manager). Project Manager for the erection and commissioning of a chromite spiral facilities and PGM flotation plants. Project Manager for the design, erection and commissioning of a 5 MW DC and a 5 MW AC furnaces for the melting of PGE concentrates as well as stainless steel dust.
